China Day 4

China Trip Day 4 - 3/7/15

Last night was bitter sweet.  We called home to wish Nora a Happy 2nd Birthday, and it was more emotional than we thought.  We miss her and Everett so much and cannot wait to get back with their little brother!

Today we woke up very sore...The Great Wall was a lot of climbing and as my dad would say my legs are "speaking to me."  We toured Tin An Men Square and the forbidden city this morning.  It is rich in Chinese culture and history, and we are delighted to be learning about Theo's heritage.

We then went to a local tea shop where we were served 6 classic Chinese teas.  We really enjoyed it, but I have to be honest...my Aveda tea is still my favorite!  John and the other men were good sports throughout the whole tasting.

On the way home we saw an acrobatics show that did not disappoint.  It was filled with 16 women balancing on one bike to 8 motorcycles in one small cage going full speed!  Pictures were not allowed, but we snuck one anyway....

We finished our evening by having a lovely dinner with a family we have met on the trip.  We talked about what a journey it has been and how ready we are to meet our sweet boys.  It is amazing to hear each family share how God has led them to this point in their lives.  While these first few days were important to get our bodies adjusted to the time change and learn about Chinese culture.......WE ARE SO READY TO BE DONE AND GO MEET THEO!!!  I see all these couples and I start to get choked up thinking the next time I will see them we will have 15 Chinese children in our company.  4 Families being first time parents.  Every one of us have a different journey and we have enjoyed getting to hear them.  Tomorrow we leave on a train for Jinan!  Monday (or Sunday your time) we will meet Theo for the first time!  It is going to be quite the next few days filled with lots of emotions and challenges.
